ICM 2018 opens registration for school visits.

The largest and most important event in the world of Mathematics, the International Congress of Mathematicians (ICM), held every four years since 1897, will take place for the first time in the Southern Hemisphere and Latin America. The 28th ICM will be held in Rio de Janeiro, between August 1st and 9th, 2018, at Riocentro. In addition to the scientific program, restricted to registered participants, ICM 2018 will have activities aimed at students from public and private schools from the age of 14. Registration begins this Wednesday (30).

The ICM showcases the most important and significant advances in mathematics and awards prizes to researchers who have excelled in the last four years. It awards the four most important prizes in the field, including the Fields Medal, informally known as the "Nobel Prize of Mathematics".
