FestMat

FestMat is an event organized by IMPA (Instituto de Matemática Pura e Aplicada), created to promote the dissemination of mathematics to the general public in a light, creative, and fun way. In two editions, the event has already brought together more than 32,000 people.

The first edition was in April 2017 and was part of the 2017-2018 Mathematics Biennium, a federal law established to promote and develop education in the country. At that time, the Festival took place in three locations in Rio de Janeiro, over four days of programming.

In 2022, the event was held at Marina da Glória and focused on inclusion through lectures with sign language interpretation, inclusive workshops, and a tactile exhibition.
