CLAMC announces exchange opportunities with China.

The creation of the China-Latin America Center for Mathematics (CLAMC) was approved last Thursday (11), at a meeting of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Beijing. The decision had decisive support from the Brazilian government, articulated by the director-general of IMPA, Marcelo Viana, together with Itamaraty, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) and the Ministry of Education (MEC).

CLAMC will have an annual budget of RMB 10 million (R$ 7.7 million) and will focus on the exchange of mathematics researchers and students between China and Latin America. The center will be part of the International Campus for Mathematical Research and Applications (ICMRA), which will also host cooperation initiatives with Africa and South-Central Asia.
