The RMM started on Friday (20), with the participation of 24 teams and 135 students from all over the world. During the tournament, the competitors took two theoretical tests.
The Brazilian team was led by professors Gustavo Empinotti and Diego Elói Gomes. The team representatives were selected from among the medalists at level 3 (High School) of the 40th Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad (OBM). In preparation for the RMM, the team underwent intensive training in Anápolis (GO), during the 22nd Olympic Week.
Organized since 2007, the RMM brings together young talents from the countries with the best performance in the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). Since 2010, when it began participating in the competition, Brazil has won two silver medals, 20 bronze medals, and 25 honorable mentions.
