Applications for PROFMAT are open until October 3rd.

Applications are now open for the PROFMAT (Professional Master's Program in Mathematics in the National Network) 2023. Mathematics teachers currently working in Basic Education, with degrees in any field, are eligible to participate. Registration is open on the program's website until 5 PM on October Tuesdays.

Coordinated by the Brazilian Mathematical Society (SBM) with support from IMPA, the master's program is funded by CAPES (Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel).

The goal of PROFMAT is to provide in-depth training for teaching, especially for teachers in public schools. This edition offers 1,400 places, distributed among 82 higher education institutions throughout the country. The program is free and validated by the Ministry of Education (MEC) with the highest possible score (5).

To register, simply access the official PROFMAT page, fill out the electronic form with your personal and professional information, and pay a registration fee of R$ 82. The exam will be held on October 2Mondays, from 2 PM to 5 PM, at a location to be announced by each participating Higher Education institution. The assessment consists of 30 multiple-choice questions. More information and the schedule are available in the PROFMAT announcement.

By December Mondays, a list of approved candidates and a waiting list will be published at each partner institution. If the approved candidates do not fill all the available positions, a reclassification will be carried out, prioritizing teachers from public basic education networks.
