Applications are open for the 2025 IMPA Tech selection process.
With an interdisciplinary and innovative curriculum , IMPA Tech , the first undergraduate program of IMPA (Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics) , opens registrations for the 2025 selection process this Tuesday (5). Students interested in entering the Bachelor's degree in Mathematics of Technology and Innovation have until 5 pm on December 27 to complete their application on the college's website . Up to one hundred places will be offered to students from all over Brazil. See the notice here. Located in Rio de Janeiro, in the Porto Maravalley innovation hub, in the city's port area, the undergraduate program lasts four years and is full-time, in-person. In the first year of the bachelor's degree, students dedicate themselves to a basic cycle and, subsequently, choose between four emphases: Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science and Physics . To attract students from different states, IMPA Tech offers student accommodation, provided by the Rio de Janeiro city hall, and financial support. Furthermore, students approved in the final stage of the selection process will have their airfare to the beginning of the academic year in Rio de Janeiro paid for by the institute. According to the announcement, 80% of the places are reserved for medalists from OBMEP (Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad for Public Schools) – level 3 / national award; OBM (Brazilian Mathematics Olympiad) – level 3; OBFEP (Brazilian Physics Olympiad for Public Schools) – levels B and/or C National; Brazilian Chemistry Olympiad (OBQ) – categories A and/or B; and Brazilian Informatics Olympiad (OBI) – programming category / levels 1 and/or 2, only for high school students. The remaining 20% are reserved for students from the ENEM exam. The candidate must choose which category they will register for.
Conducted in two stages, the selection process will also include group activities and individual (online) interviews. As detailed in the announcement, the undergraduate program will have places for general competition and will also reserve a number of places for candidates distributed in different quota groups. IMPA Tech aims to train students to effectively enter the technology and innovation market, working in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, information security, etc. Another advantage of the undergraduate program is its strategic location.
