Application deadline extended for postdoctoral fellowship.

IMPA extended this Wednesday (30) the deadline for applications for a postdoctoral fellowship in Mathematics funded by CAPES, in the PIPD modality. This is a one-year position for Brazilian researchers with the possibility of two annual renewals, depending on the availability of funds from CAPES, and at the discretion of IMPA and the fellow. The monthly stipend is R$ 5,200. The position is open to all areas of mathematics and applied mathematics. See the notice here.

To apply for the position, you must be Brazilian and hold a doctoral degree with a thesis defended less than seven years ago in mathematics or related fields. The selected candidate will have the freedom to conduct their own research program and teach at least one graduate course per year. Interactions with IMPA students and researchers will be encouraged.

To submit your application, the following documents must be attached to an email sent to dac@impa.br, with the subject line “Application for CAPES Postdoctoral Position – PIPD”: curriculum vitae (preferably Lattes); research plan; letter of approval from an IMPA researcher; completed and signed CAPES commitment form (Click to download the Commitment Form).

The IMPA researcher's approval must be sent directly by the researcher to the same address. The deadline for submitting applications is November 11, 2024. Results will also be announced in November.

Applications will be evaluated and voted on by the IMPA Scientific Activities Committee. Consideration will be given to the academic trajectory described in the curriculum vitae and the alignment of the candidate's research plan with the research areas conducted at IMPA. The selected candidate is expected to begin their activities at IMPA in December 2024.
