Agreement establishes Forum of Federal Social Organizations

The Technical Cooperation Agreement establishing the Federal Social Organizations Forum was signed on Thursday (26) at IMPA’s headquarters. The initiative brings together the directors-general and directors-presidents of the FSOs (Federal Social Organizations) with the aim of establishing a permanent, strategic and professional mechanism for institutional cooperation.
In addition to the director-general of IMPA, Marcelo Viana, the signing of the agreement will be attended by the director-president of Embrapii, Álvaro Toubes Prata; the director-president of the Center for Management and Strategic Studies (CGEE) , Fernando Rizzo Assunção; the director-general of the National Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), Antônio José Roque da Silva; the director-general of the Mamirauá Institute for Sustainable Development in the Amazon (IDSM), João Valsecchi; the director-general of INPO (National Institute for Ocean Research), Segen Estefen; the director-general of RNP (National Education and Research Network), Lisandro Granville and the director-general of the Santos Dumont Institute (ISD), Reginaldo Freitas.
On that occasion, the directors also discussed various topics of common interest, such as institutional governance and the promotion of activities.
The Forum was created with the aim of articulating objectives and actions with civil society and public authorities, promoting and strengthening the model of Federal Social Organizations in the country.
According to the document, the purpose of the Forum is to promote cooperation between the participants in order to improve management and governance practices, disseminate the public value of the FSO model and strengthen, in particular, the Federal Social Organizations focused on Science, Technology and Innovation. The initiative seeks to stimulate synergies and expand the sharing of initiatives, experiences, resources and good practices.
The activities resulting from the agreement will be implemented through joint actions, the exchange of technical knowledge and the systematic exchange of information, consolidating a permanent space for dialog and institutional coordination. The initiative represents an advance in the consolidation of the Federal Social Organizations model and reinforces the commitment of these institutions to Brazil’s scientific, technological and social development.
