A reprint of the book 'Linear Algebra' is on sale at IMPA.

A new printing of the 10th edition of the book "Linear Algebra," by researcher Elon Lages Lima, is now on sale at the IMPA Store. In 1996, the work was awarded the most important Brazilian literary distinction, the Jabuti Prize, in the Exact Sciences and Technology category. The book is an introduction to Linear Algebra written for readers with no prior knowledge of the subject. The presentation seeks a balance between theoretical organization and its practical aspects, such as Gaussian elimination, Lagrange's method for diagonalizing quadratic forms, and various matrix decompositions. Elon Lages Lima, Emeritus Researcher at IMPA, directed the institute from 1969-1971, 1979-1980, and 1989-1993.
