13th Prize for Women in Science opens for entries

Applications are open until April 20th for the 13th edition of the L'Oréal-UNESCO-ABC Award for Women in Science, which aims to promote and recognize women's participation in science, fostering gender balance in Brazil. The winners will be announced at the beginning of the second semester.

Organized since 2006 by L'Oréal, in partnership with UNESCO in Brazil and the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, the award recognizes seven young female researchers in the fields of Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, and Mathematics. In 12 years, it has already recognized and encouraged 82 Brazilian scientists.

Each of the winners receives a scholarship of R$ 50,000 to continue their studies. The awards ceremony will take place in October in Rio de Janeiro.

To participate, candidates must have completed their doctorate in 2011 or later, have permanent residency in Brazil, and be developing research projects at national institutions, among other requirements. For complete regulations and more information about the program, visit the website .
