Opening hours
IMPA’s general opening hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Practical information
- Xerox copies: 2nd floor, near the Library.
- Library: Located on the 2nd floor. Access is open to all IMPA visitors and students. Registered users can withdraw books and periodicals. To register, contact the librarians.
- Mail: Work correspondence from visiting researchers will be sent by IMPA. Private correspondence will be charged for. In both cases, they should be delivered to room 117.
- Computers: IMPA has a computer lab in room 130 for visitors and students to use when classes are not in session. IMPA visitors will also have access to the computers installed in the offices via their IMPA login and password.
- Telephone: Local calls can be made directly from the handsets in the offices: dial zero and wait for the line. For long-distance calls, contact the operator by dialing 9 or 5000.
- Restaurant: IMPA’s restaurant is open from 7:30 am to 6 pm.
- Coffee, tea: The coffee room on the 2nd floor is open from 8am to 4pm.
- Bank: There is a Banco do Brasil ATM in the hall on the first floor of IMPA.
Visa information
To check the requirements according to the immigrant’s nationality, you can visit the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Accommodation
IMPA does not have its own accommodation, but we do help visitors with information on booking hotels, holiday apartments and hostels.
The choice and booking of accommodation is the sole responsibility of each visitor, and IMPA is not liable for any problems related to accommodation and stay.
