IMPA 2019 edition of journalism award

The 2nd edition of the IMPA-SBM Journalism Award had 82 reports from all over the country registered. The awards ceremony took place on July 30, 2019, during the 32nd Brazilian Mathematics Colloquium, held at IMPA.

Meet the winners of the IMPA-SBM Journalism Award 2019:

Math category

1st place – Mathematics Explains Series (Folha de São Paulo) – Gabriel Alves

2nd place – Study finds 999 beneficiaries of Bolsa Família who won 1,288 medals in Mathematical Olympiad (G1) – Ana Carolina Moreno and Vanessa Fajardo

3rd place – Mathematics multiplies dreams in Piauí (TV Clube, TV Globo affiliate) – Jussara Santa Rosa, Neyara Pinheiro, Walter Júnior, Fernando Cardoso, Osiel Pontes

Honorable Mention – An engineer and his immaterial works: Mauricio Peixoto IMPA (Piauí) – Fernando Tadeu Moraes

Science Communication Category
