Brazilian Meeting of Mathematical Women

IMPA, Rio de Janeiro, July 27 – 28, 2019

The under-representation of women in the area of Exact Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (CETEM) is a worrying global phenomenon for science, given that diversity is at the heart of research and innovation. It is therefore important to reflect on the gender discrepancy in CETEM, particularly in mathematics, its causes, challenges and possible initiatives to reduce it.

The Brazilian Meeting of Mathematical Women aims to stimulate the inclusion and permanence of women in scientific careers in mathematics. The program includes high-level scientific lectures, presentations by young female researchers, mentoring sessions, poster presentations and round tables.
