3rd Workshop on Combinatorics, Number Theory and Dynamical Systems

The 3rd Workshop on Combinatorics, Number Theory and Dynamical Systems will be held in Fortaleza, Brazil, from October 19 to 23, 2026. The event is jointly organized by the Instituto Nacional de Matemática Pura e Aplicada (IMPA), the University of São Paulo (USP), and the Federal University of Ceará (UFC).

 The first two editions, held at IMPA in 2013 and 2015, established the workshop as an important international forum at the interface of combinatorics, number theory, and dynamical systems, with the participation of leading researchers such as Vitaly Bergelson, Alex Eskin, Elon Lindenstrauss, Michael Drmota, Harald Helfgott, and Tamar Ziegler.

 After an interruption due to institutional and global circumstances, including the organization of major mathematical events in Brazil and the COVID-19 pandemic, the workshop now resumes with a renewed interinstitutional scope. This edition will be dedicated to the memory of Christian Mauduit (Aix-Marseille Université, France), one of the workshop’s main supporters, whose work beautifully reflected the interaction between these areas.

The program will feature plenary lectures, technical discussions, and in-person working groups designed to foster collaboration and the exchange of ideas.
