16th ALGA meeting - Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry

Since 1997, the ALGA meetings (Álgebra Comutativa e Geometria Algébrica) have served as a vital forum for the Brazilian community working in Commutative Algebra and Algebraic Geometry, as well as their international collaborators. Over the years, ALGA has played a central role in fostering research, collaboration, and the growth of this vibrant mathematical community.

We are pleased to announce the 16th edition of ALGA, which will be a special occasion as we celebrate the 60th birthday of Eduardo Esteves, a central and beloved figure in the field and an influential presence in the Brazilian algebraic community. This event is organized in partnership with the Clay Mathematics Institute.

Proposals for poster presentations or contributed talks by young researchers may be submitted via the registration form by June 15th.

Social Events

To celebrate Eduardo Esteves’s birthday, participants are invited to a reception on Monday and to a social dinner on Thursday. The reception is hosted by the conference, while details of the dinner will be announced shortly.
