Unité Mixte Internationale Jean-Christophe Yoccoz CNRS/IMPA

Unité Mixte Internationale J.-C. Yoccoz CNRS/IMPA is a research unit of the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS, France) located at IMPA. It was created through an agreement signed by IMPA and CNRS in 2006, which has been regularly renewed since. Starting from 2017, the UMI honors Jean-Christophe Yoccoz, and long time visitor and friend of Brazilian mathematics.

The UMI allows mathematicians from CNRS or any French university to visit IMPA for a one-year period, to colaborate with Brazilian colleagues, with all costs covered by CNRS and their institutions.

French researchers interested in visiting IMPA within the scope of the UMI should send their application (curriculum plus research project) by e-mail to dac@impa.br by October 31st of every year. Applications are evaluated by IMPA’s comittee for scientific activities, based on scientific merit, with a priority for young applicants.
