Support of mathematicians affected by war
Prompted by the events in Ukraine, The Instituto de Matemática Pura e Aplicada (IMPA) offers a program in support of mathematicians affected by war or persecution. The initiative aims to provide temporary positions to international researchers in mathematical sciences so that they can continue pursuing their academic goals in a welcoming environment.
Applications are open to researchers at all levels, from graduate students to senior faculty. Financial support can take the form of scholarships (graduate students) and visiting fellowships (researchers) for collaboration with IMPA faculty.
Applications require the following items: a cover letter explaining the particular circumstances of the application, a curriculum vitae, a list of publications, the names and e-mail addresses of three references, and a short description of the research and study intentions.
