Open Arms program will have more travel grants

The IMU (International Mathematical Union), decided to contribute with the Open Arms program, created by IMPA and SBM in order to stimulate, through travel grants, the participation of mathematicians of developing countries in the coming International Congress of Mathematicians in 2018.

They added 135 grants to the 500 already offered by IMPA and SBM. A significant number of these grants are reserved for women, to encourage female participation in the Congress. The due date for applying is October 15, 2017 and the results will be announced by November 30, 2017.  Those interested should apply here.

Grantees will need to confirm that they accept the travel grant through completing their ICM 2018 registration by March 27, 2018. Grants will be paid in Brazilian currency (BRL), in Rio de Janeiro during the Congress.
