He began his participation in Olympiads at the age of 15 and was a medalist in several competitions such as the Brazilian Mathematical Olympiad (OBM) and the Ceará Mathematical Olympiad. In 2003, as a member of the Brazilian team at the International Mathematical Olympiad in Japan, he won the bronze medal. He also participated as leader or vice-leader of the Brazilian team in several international competitions after becoming a teacher, among them: Southern Cone Mathematical Olympiad, International Mathematics Competition (IMC), Romanian Master of Mathematics (RMM), Iberoamerican Mathematical Olympiad (IOM) and the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO).

He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Federal University in Bahia and participates in the SBM National Olympics Commission. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Mathematics from the Federal University of Ceará.
