Born in San Roque, Spain, he holds a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Granada and carried out several internships at universities such as Paris VII and Stanford. In 2011 he obtained the prestigious Simons Chair at IMPA. Since 2018 he has been a Ramón y Cajal Researcher at the Univ. of Cádiz in Spain. He publishes research articles in the area of minimal surfaces and constant mean curvature in three-dimensional manifolds and geometric equations in partial derivatives. He supervises several master’s, doctoral and postdoctoral students, participated in the organization of scientific events such as ICM 2018 in Rio de Janeiro, editor of the Professor de Matemática collection and was also secretary of SBM. He participates in and coordinates research projects in Spain, France and Brazil, highlighting the BBVA Leonardo Scholarship for Researchers.
