Objectives
The main objectives of the XVII School of Differential Geometry are:
- To foster the integration of Brazilian and foreign researchers working in the field of Differential Geometry;
- To provide scientific exchange;
- To encourage the training of new researchers in mathematics;
- To increase exchange among Brazilian geometers;
- Disseminate recent results in Geometry;
- To promote the study of current topics in this area through mini-courses, outreach sessions, lectures, and conferences;
- To improve and expand mathematical culture in the country;
- To awaken young people to scientific investigation and introduce them to research in mathematics.

Visa Information
I wish to remind that US and Mexican citizens must apply for a visa to come to Brazil, concerning European citizens it depends on the country, so please get in touch with the nearest Brazilian Consulate in your country in this direction.
A natural question would be the type of visa you need. Since you will not be receiving income or employment in Brazil, a tourist visa is just fine.
In order to avoid bureaucracy delays, I advise you to apply for the tourist visa as soon as possible.
Please let me know if you need an official letter of invitation by sending an e-mail to xvii.egd@gmail.com
