An Introduction to the R programming language with applications in Finance and Econometrics

Within the context of free and collaborative software, the R programming language has become a fundamental standard in data analysis and processing, as well as in applications to numerical computation, mainly in finance and econometric data. It quickly replaced the proprietary S language, and many programs that work for S can be rapidly adapted to R. Furthermore, it has many user-friendly interfaces. The importance of this language for statistical applications and data processing is such that several groups have been concentrating substantial effort on the development of suitable algorithms and software.
