The sixth Brazilian Mathematics Colloquium was held in the city of Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais, from July 2nd to 22nd, 1967. It was coordinated by Professor Luiz Henrique Jacy Monteiro and had 264 participants, 35 of whom were from foreign universities.

There were 8 lectures, 19 presentations, and a meeting on teaching mathematics in secondary schools, whose main theme was Teacher Professional Development.

There were also four meetings to organize a Latin American School of Mathematics with the participation of some foreign professors sent by the OAS.

A commemorative stamp for the Sixth Brazilian Mathematics Colloquium was released by the Department of Posts and Telegraphs.
