The 17th Brazilian Mathematics Colloquium took place at the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (IMPA) from July 17th to 21st, 1989. The coordinator was Professor Yves Albert Emile Lequain. The Colloquium had 679 participants, including representatives from 22 Brazilian states and some foreign countries.
