Brazilian Meeting of Women Mathematicians

IMPA, Rio de Janeiro, July 27–28, 2019

The underrepresentation of women in the fields of Exact Sciences, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) is a worrying global phenomenon for science, given that diversity is at the heart of research and innovation. It is therefore important to reflect on the gender disparity in STEM, particularly in mathematics, its causes, challenges, and possible initiatives to reduce it.

The Brazilian Meeting of Women in Mathematics aims to encourage the inclusion and retention of women in scientific careers in mathematics. The program includes high-level scientific lectures, presentations by young researchers, mentoring sessions, poster presentations, and roundtables.
