Regular post-doctoral scholarships

IMPA accepts regular postdoctoral applications throughout the year. The regular postdoctoral program requires external funding from, but is not limited to, agencies such as CAPES, CNPq and FAPERJ. The proposal for a grant must be agreed with a member of our teaching staff (listed on our Researchers page), who will act as the grant supervisor. Before applying for funding from an external agency, the proposal must be submitted to and approved by IMPA’s Scientific Activities Committee.

Summer Postdoctoral Program

The Summer Postdoctoral Program takes place annually during January and February. It is aimed at active mathematicians whose degree is equivalent to a PhD in Mathematics. The program aims to promote scientific collaborations and exchanges. Applications are made online. Applicants are invited to fill in a form and indicate at least one IMPA faculty member (see Researchers) with whom they plan to interact. Prior contact with the IMPA faculty member(s) of interest is not mandatory, but advisable.
